I personally love single-player campaigns but it really is a limiting aspect in terms of demographics. I really do think improvements to co-op and multiplayer is what will guarantee WH3 gets a new trilogy or a sequel, as it will pull in players who don't just want to do campaigns alone as the primary gameplay path.
N o desyncs because it's 2021 and that's a 2000s problem that has been solved in every other game, A or AA or AAA or whatever Persistent and fungible campaigns meaning you can lose a human participant and replace them with a new participant playing the same faction or a new oneĪ unified LL selection screen because new and occasional players haven't memorized the specifics of the incredibly diverse selection of races and LLs the game has, and because the selection screen is bad-assĪction queueing for at least a subset of decisions vis-à-vis CIV to save time in a campaign that will be quite long from start to finish, even for experienced players moving quicklyĪn overhaul or at least tweaks to reinforcement mechanics because the best part of Total War are the battles, and it's actually non-trivial to play a co-op campaign 100% co-operatively because of how challenging it is to tactically move across the campaign-map as a group The limitations of each in WH1 and WH2 alienate players who are interested in the mechanics and creative design of the games, but don't want to play it primarily alone, and the clunky 2P co-op we have now is just not enough to really attract that demographic and tends to fall apart at the seams (performance issues, desyncs, clunky saving and many more).ĤP co-op, because 2P is just too constraining and doesn't really do the game justice (there are 20+ factions sprawled across a massive and dynamic map, and battles can support more than 2 factions, etc) It's not a popular opinion here but I truly think that co-op and multiplayer improvements are critical to bringing this game to the next level of popularity and acclaim.
